Monsieur Lectier (051)
This eau-de-vie is made exclusively from fully ripe Le Lectier pears, delivered from Abe Farm in the Shirone district of Minami-ku, Niigata City, where they grow delicious fruit under the motto < good food good mood > and in the full light of the sun.
Niigata Prefecture boasts the largest cultivation area of Le Lectier pears in Japan, accounting for nearly 80% of the national total. Shirone, where Abe Farm is located, is known as the birthplace of Le Lectier cultivation in Japan—a true home of the variety. These pears are celebrated for their rich aroma, smooth texture, and elegant shape. Because Le Lectier does not fully ripen on the tree, it requires about 40 days of post-harvest ripening.
After the pears arrived from Niigata, they were allowed to ripen and then fermented slowly with natural yeast for 30 days before distillation.
We named this spirit “Monsieur Lectier” in honor of two distinguished gentlemen: Monsieur Le Lectier, the 17th-century horticulturist who served the French court, and the previous head of Abe Farm, who authored Japan's first technical book on pear cultivation.
A clear spirit that concentrates the fragrance of the pear—often called “the queen of fruits.” Hold the glass in your hand and enjoy the rising, luxurious aroma.
